Research and evaluation of social impact

Given the variety and volume of the public and private resources mobilized for the microfinance sector and the expectations surrounding this particular financial instrument, it is becoming increasingly important to make an effort to study and understand the impact that these actions are having in greater detail.

Researchers, designers of public policy, cooperation agents, operators and financiers are all aware of the knowledge gaps that continue to exist when it comes to identifying, measuring and evaluating the direct and indirect effects of our actions. The Spanish Microfinance Network, in general, and this working group in particular will strive to improve and expand the frontiers of research in the design and development of indicators and the execution of rigorous evaluations.
